Why do my BIAB nails keep lifting?

There are several reasons why your BIAB nails might be lifting:

  1. Improper Nail Prep: If the natural nail isn’t properly prepped, oils and debris can prevent the BIAB from adhering correctly.

  2. Inadequate Dehydration: Failing to dehydrate the nail plate can result in moisture, which can cause lifting.

  3. Incorrect Application: Applying BIAB too thickly or too close to the cuticle can lead to lifting.

  4. Incompatible Products: Using incompatible base coats, primers, or topcoats can affect adhesion.

  5. Nail Damage: Pre-existing damage to the natural nail can prevent proper adhesion.

  6. Poor Maintenance: Not following proper aftercare instructions, such as avoiding excessive exposure to water or chemicals, can lead to lifting.

  7. Incorrect Curing: Not curing the BIAB layers for the correct amount of time or using a faulty UV/LED lamp can result in incomplete curing and lifting.
